The angel within the ice warmed up to the boy eventually. Suddenly the icce around her melted, freeing her for the first time in centuries. She stood, letting her bare feet touch the soft wet grass beneath them. The boy stared silently, to him it was as if the ice had suddenly melted away within a couple of seconds.

And now that he saw her, he couldn't stop staring at her wings. They were so warm and inviting, if only he had them for his own. He'd be able to fly with them and touch the heavens and fly to wherever he pleased. He stepped forward, reaching his right hand out to her.

The angel turned and faced him. She smiled and extended her left hand to take his right hand. With one swift motion, he had her in his arms. He held her tightly, she took in the warmth of his body. A warmth she hadn't felt in so long. He ran his hands down her shoulders and back, eventually reaching her wings. He began to stroke her feathers.

"They're so soft and warm" he said softly in her ear so only she could hear. What she couldn't see, was that while his hands were behind her back as he pretended to stroke her wings, he was pulling out a knife from the sleeve of his shirt. She stood happily, holding onto him tightly never wanting the moment to end.

But the moment ended all too quickly. For the boy took his knife, and with one swift stroke stabbed her in the back. She screamed in pain as she shoved him away from her. He ripped the knife out of her back as she pushed him away, but no sooner had she pushed him away did he lunge at her again.

But this time, she was ready. With one great flap of her wings, she had knocked him back with a gust of wind. She cursed him, the pain in her back didn't hurt as much as the pain in her heart. She pointed her finger at him, creating a ball of fire. Before she could unleash the fireball, he ran off into the woods. The unicorn who had been guarding made certain to chase him away.

She stood in the center of her clearing, working on healing her wound. She was crying, but was also healing. After a long while, her oldest friend, the unicorn, returned to her side. She silently stroked his neck assuring him she would be alright. And she would no longer be in hiding. She would make certain her forest was safe so that not just anybody could walk into her forest.
So this is it, the end of the ice wall diaries. Im free of my ice prison thanks to Chris, even though he hurt me. I won't let this freeze me over again though. I will move on this time, and I will not let this be an anchor in my life.

Chris and I are through, but I am not finished searching and protecting. I protect those I care about, and I search for my other half who has yet to be found.
