Uicorns Among Us S.2 Pt.9

The next day, Ashley was giving orders to move out of the sheltered area. Ashley stood silently as she watched everyone packing up. Strider walked up from behind her and asked her "What shall we do about the demon?"

"We shall take him along. He may knwo something of Shadow." Ashley replied.

Strider nodded as he slung his arm aorund her. "Don't worry... Everything will be fine. We'll find out about Shadow." Strider said with confidence.

"How do you know?" Ashley replied.

"I just do..." Strider replied. His long hair blew in the wind like crazy as he stood there watching everyone packing up again.

"Where shall we go now?" Ashley asked softly.

"There is a remote island off the coast of Ireland. We'll be safe there. We can build our own kingdom and the Pegusi and Pegacorns will join us there. We already sent out two messengers to them to meet us there." Strider replied.

Ashley nodded as she rested her head agaisnt Striders shoulder and wrapped her arms around his waist. "We will leave soon...but I feel I should stay here and end some of my ties with my family. They know I'm alive and will want me home soon. It's already been almost 7 years sicne I've seen my parents." Ashley said softly.

"Then I will go with you. We will go to your parents, and tell them what is going on and you wish to live with us." Strider said.

"Will that not put you in danger?" Ashley asked looknig at him.

"Not as much as you." Strider repleid looking at Ashley.

"Alrgiht then. We'll leave tonight when the others are sleeping." Ashley said.

And so later that night, Ashley and Strider took off after saying farewell to the king unicorn. Ashley and Strider made their way through the forest silently. And on their way out of the woods they thought they saw some of the unicorn hunters following them.

By morning, Strider had gone into one of his frenzy attacks from the evil spell that was still cast upon him. He found himself banging against trees and hitting the ground really hard as he fought to keep it under control. And when the attack subsided, he lyed on the ground sweating and breathing heavily.

Ashley walekd over to him and helped him stand on his feet. "Let's get over to my parents place where we can stay for a while. We can maek it there is about 16 hours if you turn into your unicorn form and canter all the way." Ashley said softly. Strider only nodded knowing she was pushing him t make him stronger. He needed to be stronger casue his attacks were already getting more powerful. And so soon as they were on the road again, Ashley started to sing a couple of songs. One was 'My Immortal' by Evansence and the other was 'Amazing Grace'.

They amde it to Adhley's home around 5 in the morning. "Mom Dad I'm home!" Ashley shouted. The light turned on form inside the hosue and her parents rushed out.

"Oh Ashley we were so worried!" her mother said then the three had a group hug.

"We hadn't heard from you since you left wth that unicorn and then when we got the news you were dead..." her father broke offand looekd over towards Strider.

"Well who is this?" Ashley's mother asked.

"Mom, Dad...this is Strider. Strider is another Unicorn. We came here cause...I wanted to tell you goodbye. I'm gonig to live with the unicorns. There is a war raging that no human other then you and I knwo about. The war is huge and the unicorns need my help. The entire race of unicorns are leaving for an island off the coast of Ireland. I'm going with them." Ashley explained.

Strider put his arm aroudn Ashley's shoulders. "And don't worry about Ashley. I swear to keep her protected." Strider said.

Her parents nodded. "We were expecting she would do this...Ashley you can't jsut go off without us knowing where you are going." her mother said in a firm voice.

Ashley stiffened. She was 24 years old, she could handle herself yet her mother was treating her like a 13 year old. "Mom I can take care of myself." Ashley said between her clenched teeth.

"I'm sure you can but... right now we want you ome for at least a month. We are moving and need your help. You can go with those beasts later." Her father said verry firmly.

"No...I won't!" Ashley shouted. Strider looked a bit worried.

"Yes you will young lady now get over here now." her mother said pointing at the ground.

"No..." Ashley said firmly then turned to Strider. "Let's go honey. We can no longer stay here." Ashley said sounding angry.

Ashley's mother's eyebrows raised suddenly. "Honey?" she asked.

"Yes...Strider and I are together." Ashley said as she mounted onto Striders back after he transformed into his unicorn form. "Goodbye mother and father." Ashley said.

Ashley's parents watched her ride off but she hadn't even gone a block away when the unicorn hunters attacked. Ashley was knocked off of Strider, and Strider was roped and taken away. "NO!"Ashley screamed as she tried to grasp a hold of Strider but she was kicked really hard in the face which knocked her unconcious. Strider changed to his human form to try and get to Ashley and luckily one of the neighbors had seen what was happening and shot his rifle off and shouted at the unicorn hunters to leave. An ambulance was on its way. The next thing Ashely knew she was waknig up in a hospital bed with a huge bandage on her head and she hardly remembered anything except the unicorns had gone to an island and Strider was with her.
