Unicorns Among Us S.2 - Pt.6

Justin pointed at a spot on the map.

"Here is the vault," Justin said. The vault was located in the very center of the building.

"It looks like it's very highly secured," Strider observed.

Justin nodded. "It is very highly secured. It's got the demonised unicorns guarding the vault and a lot more traps then guards," Justin said with a grave voice.

"We best get moving now then," Shadow said knowing it would take a while and that Ashley didn't have much more time.

Justin and Strider nodded then transformed into their unicorn forms. Shadow did the same and walked over to the door with Strider.

Justin trotted over to a bookshelf and grabbed a book from a shelf. "We'll need this,” he said as he used his magic powers to make the book go into a small bag he carried in his human form.

"What for?” Strider asked.

"For the secret pass codes required for going through the halls towards the vault." Justin replied.

Shadow nodded "Let's go now," he said and the three started to leave.

As the three were leaving, the ground started shaking. The bookshelves started to wobble and then fall over. About three of them fell on top of Justin with a loud crash. Justin yelled then all was quiet.

When the dust settled, Shadow and Strider ran over to the pile of shelves and started to dig out Justin. They found him unconscious with a few scratches but nothing more.

"I'll carry him." Shadow said with a sigh as he scooped Justin up and put him on his back piggy back style. Then they ran for the vault.

It was minutes before Justin woke up and fell off of Shadow's back.

"Bout time the beast woke up." Strider said.

"Let's just go," Justin growled seeming embarrassed.

The three made it to the vault in no time. Getting there was easy enough but getting in without making an alarm go off was harder. Justin walked through carefully until he got to the door then motioned for the others to do the same following the same pattern he used to get over.

"Argetlam!" Justin said to the door then it opened with a loud groan.

"Stay here and keep watch. "Justin said then ducked inside the vault and headed for the antidote. Strider and Shadow kept watch outside the vault.

A few minutes went by before...'WOOP WOOP WOOP RED ALERT SOMEONE IN VAULT!!!' went the alarm.

"LETS GO!" Justin screamed running out of the vault with the antidote in his teeth.

"What did you do!" Shadow shouted as they ran.

"I saw something I wanted but I touched it and the alarm went off!" Justin shouted back.

"You idiot!" Strider yelled.

They had just made it to the doorway out of the hideout when a bunch of Unicorn Hunters appeared.

"Kill them,” said one of the thugs and then charged. Strider went forward and used a spell to blow the thugs back into a door. “You go on I'll hold them off!" he shouted.

Shadow and Justin made to protest but Strider shook his head.

"Ashley doesn't have time!" he shouted which got Shadow and Justin both heading to where Ashley awaited.

Shadow and Justin arrived at Ashley's house around midnight. Everyone was asleep, Ashley was in her room still luckily but all dressed up for her viewing.

Shadow changed to his human form, as did Justin. Shadow rushed to Ashley's side.

"Quick the antidote." Shadow said.

"No," Justin replied coldly as he put the antidote in his pocket and took out his sword.

"What is the meaning of this!" Shadow shouted angrily.

"I know," came Justin's voice from...elsewhere?

Suddenly the old Justin appeared in the window and jumped in.

Shadow's eyes widened really big. "WHAT!?!?!" he screamed.

"Less talk more fight." Justin said as he shoved Shadow to the side and started a brutal battle with his evil counterpart.

Justin jumped upwards and twirled in the air kicking evil Justin's sword out of his hands then Justin punched Justin in the mouth and sent him sprawling on the floor then good Justin grabbed evil Justin’s sword and did the final low. A stab to evil Justin’s back piercing evil Justin’s heart, which killed him. Evil Justin’s body vanished into thin air.

"I'll explain later.” Justin said grabbing the vial that was left behind from evil Justin.

Justin walked over to Ashley and opened her mouth and poured the blue liquid into her mouth and forced her to swallow it.

At first there was nothing. Justin held her in his arms. "Please don't let it be too late," he breathed.

Shadow sat and prayed.

Ashley’s pulse started to go then color came back to her face.

"J-Justin?" came Ashley’s soft weak voice as she opened her eyes softly and looking up at Justin.

"Yes..."Justin replied with tears in his eyes.

But before more could happen...

"Oh I just hate happy endings." came Striders voice as he walked in with a gun pointed at Justin and Ashley.

"Strider what are you doing?!" Ashley exclaimed with renewed energy.

Shadow stood to attack but Strider quickly shot Shadow in the chest.

"SHADOW!" Ashley screamed.

"Don't move or Justin gets it too," Strider said in a dark voice.

Ashley slipped her hand into Justin’s as she forced herself not to cry.

"Now Ashley...just do what I say and Justin will not receive any harm." Strider said in a cold voice.

Ashley stood up when Strider told her and moved away from Justin. Her eyes fixed on Strider with the courage and bravery of a hundred men. Suddenly Strider shot his gun at her, Justin jumped to shove her out of the way, Ashley's eyes opened wide with shock...
