Unicorns Among Us part 4

Ashley awoke the next morning in a tent under some blankets and her head on a pillow. Just outside she could hear two of the unicorns talking about how Justin was missing still.

Ashley got up and went out to the two unicorns.

"What do you mean Justin is missing?" She asked them.

The Silver Unicorn known as Karaka looked over at her.

"Justin has been missing ever since after the fight last night. We all think he might have run ahead of us to the king but not even we are totally aware if it is true or if the hunters have him prisoner or he is lying somewhere dead." Karaka replied to Ashley sympathetically.

Ashley nodded showing she understood then she went after Shadow Unicorn.

"Ah you’re awake. We were all waiting for you to wake up so we could move on." Shadow Unicorn said to Ashley soon as she had found him.

"We ready to go then?" Ashley asked. She felt eager to find Justin.

Shadow Unicorn nodded. "Climb onto my back if you’re ready and we will head off at once."

Ashley climbed onto Shadow Unicorns back and off everyone went and towards the north where the king was staying.

Once they had reached the kings place, Ashley and Shadow Unicorn were ushered to the king immediately.

Ashley stood beside Shadow Unicorn as they waited for the king of Unicorns to come out of his tent.

The king stepped out of his tent slowly. His hooves were made of gold, his coat was a bronze color his eyes were the color of the sunset and his mane and tail were made of fire and his horn was the color of fire.

He came over to Ashley and Shadow Unicorn. First he nodded to Shadow Unicorn then he looked Ashley over.

"You milady must come and speak with me inside of my tent. Shadow Unicorn, you come as well we have battle plans to discuss." The king said.

Ashley nodded as did Shadow Unicorn and the three went inside of the king’s tent and once inside of there, they started to talk.

"Where is Justin?" Ashley blurted out as soon as they entered the tent.

The king and Shadow Unicorn looked at each other sadly then the king spoke up.

"Justin, he was taken prisoner..."the king said sadly.

Ashley's eyes widened. "THEN WE MUST SAVE HIM!"

"Not until you understand these hunters better." Shadow Unicorn said.

"Then tell me...and Shadow Unicorn why don't you ever take on a human form?" Ashley asked curiously.

"Call me Shadow please." Shadow unicorn stated.

"He doesn't take on the form of a human because he refuses to." The king replied. "Now please sit down milady and we shall tell you the real truth of unicorns." The king said then he used his horn to trip Ashley and she landed on top of a pillow to sit on.

"Now close your eyes, Ashley. And imagine a large beautiful field with a stream running through it and tons of Unicorns prancing around in it happily. Mountains in the distance, a forest all around the field giving the field a majestic look.” The king started. Ashley followed his orders and instantly she could see the image.

"Long ago, before you were born there was a time where people believed in unicorns and some even lived with them. But then, there were others who hated our kind. They would hunt us down and kill us off one by one. But there were also those who tried to protect us. Like yourself. That is how we Unicorns still live on today.

"But you see, the hunters were never stopped until...Amalthea. The one Unicorn who was left in the world who wasn't trapped in the sea. Yes she existed at one time. But she did not fight off a red bull. For the red bull never existed. She fought off humans themselves. She had to kill them all with the few friends she had gained while she was looking for the other unicorns.

"But not long after rescuing the unicorns that we all had to take on the form of humans to stay hidden. For you see the hunters were able to kill Amalthea. And so therefore we unicorns had to stay hidden away. Either by human form or making our horns invisible to the regular humans who no longer believed in unicorns."

The king sighed sadly. "Amalthea was my wife; she died to save all of us unicorns. I love her dearly and miss her."

Ashley opened her eyes and walked over and stroked the king’s face. "I'm sorry…" She said quietly.

The king looked at her in the eyes and said "You are Justin’s only hope. And the rest of the unicorns only hope." He said.

Ashley nodded then stood up. "Prepare yourselves for battle. I'll find Justin and maybe be able to find the hunters weakness." She said determined.

"Everything in the hunters place is not what it seems." Shadow said to Ashley.

Ashley nodded "I can handle myself." She said.

The two unicorns nodded then gave Ashley a few directions to where the hunter’s hideout would be at.

After a ton of saying goodbye, Ashley headed off to the west where she would follow until she came to a large abandoned building. And under there would be the hideout of the hunters and from there on, only God would be able to help her.
